Apple will announce the iPhone 15 and new Apple Watch models in an event it will host in the coming months. Among these watches, the Watch Series 9 and the second-generation Watch Ultra are expected. However, it is claimed that the company is working on an Apple Watch X model that will “revolutionize the smartwatch.”
Apple Watch X is being developed for the 10th anniversary of Apple Watch
It has emerged that Apple intends to redesign the Apple Watch for 2024 or 2025. It was stated that the tech giant, which is said to make a significant change in the design of the smartwatch, will do this especially for the 10th anniversary of the Watch.
Reports from Bloomberg revealed that the redesigned watch will be named “Apple Watch X”. One of the major innovations the company will make will occur on the strap. As we have reported before, it has been conveyed that Apple is testing a new magnetic clasp connection instead of the slot-based strap.
The magnetic clasp connection can reduce the thickness of the Watch by freeing the inner part that the slots currently use. The redesign is expected to include other changes and is expected to be the “biggest update Apple has made to the Watch.”
The Watch X, set to be released in 2024 or 2025, indicates that the watch’s design and strap system will change for the first time in 10 years. It should be noted that this strap system might also be offered with the Watch Series 9. However, the Series 9 is primarily expected to focus on performance improvements.
In addition to the new strap, it is said that Apple is also working on an affordable Watch SE 3 model. The smartwatch, expected to be price/performance-focused, could be unveiled at the September launch.
